Typography is the arrangement of type. Choosing the right typography is very important for multiple reasons. Good typography matches your brand's theme and also takes into account the overall appearance; bad typography will result in a negative impression on the viewer.
For our typography project we were instructed to create a gig poster using only typographic elements. Similar to the color project, we used the same design with three variations of color: black & white, complimentary colors, and any colors of our choosing.
Black & White
This Starbucks ad is a great example of typography. The ad uses only typographic elements and the logo to create the visual components. It is eye-catching and unique but still easy to read and on brand, which makes it a successful use of typography.
